Fort Aguaga is a 16th century Portuguese Fort that was constructed to guard from the Duth and the Marathas. It is at the shore of the river Mandovi. The Fort is home to a 4 storeyed Portuguese Lighthouse which is one of the oldest of its kind in Asia. It isand  Situated right on the beach, offers guests a unique opportunity to relax in elegantly appointed villas and cottages. 

 The fort is quiet huge and its strategic location formed the chief defence of the Portuguese against its enemies. The fort had ramparts built to house cannons and there was even a moat surrounding the fortt to keep intruders out. As time passed it also came to be used as a prison. It is one the must see sights in Goa.
